This site has a playground, a basketball court, a kayak launch and hiking trails. Also it has bathrooms (use at your own risk)

Ok you guys this is a non-bias review on this Hiking trail. Let us start by saying that it is NOT stroller friendly! If you have littles and want to explore the trails at the back of the park... fair warning you will be turning your little into a baby backpack!
This is a 1 mile hike with several sitting areas on the way. There are over looks of the Bayou. However, like most BREC sites there are one person bridges and plank walks in various areas. The trail itself is maintained fairly well and there is no truly rough terrain other than the occasional tree roots. Some of the wildlife we have seen here include: snakes, spiders, skinks, Gar, insects of various types, Deer, frogs, birds, and sometimes the occasional pizza loving racoon.

Now for the part you wont see on the pretty websites. The knitty gritty.

On several occasions have peopled used the parks for gatherings and left there trash . I have seen whole crawfish boils just left to the flies.
There is always an aroma of the devils lettuce hanging about. It is not just at the entrance of the trails but within it as well.
People live here. Yes. People of the house less variety live here. Some are kind and courteous, but others you may find in the early mornings running through the woods and it is slightly terrifying. Please proceed with caution.
Sometimes you can find evidence of rare wildlife like the "rubber snake" hanging in trees of on rocks. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH yes i am referring to condoms here
I will end this review/ blog with this. Please be careful and protect yourself. Be courteous and do not trash these sites. If you would like to donate to help clean up these areas you can click the button above. These donations go to supplies like: gloves, trash bags, and grabbers. If you see us out exploring you know we usually pick up as we go.

Thank you so much for staying and reading and come back as we add more brutally honest reviews. And ask yourself, "Have I touched grass today?"
